Mid-Century Pond Cottage, Wellfleet, MA

Located on a kettle pond in Wellfleet MA, this 680 sq ft mid-century Cape Cod cottage was stripped to the studs and completely redesigned for a local Wellfleet family.

Hammer Architects worked with the owners to create a unique two-bedroom cottage that maximized the pond views and remained true to its mid-century architectural heritage.

Materials were chosen both for ease of maintenance and to create a warm patina. All walls were covered in red cedar paneling, and the floors were covered in an industrial cork & rubber composite. Colorful custom plywood cabinets compliment the modern cottage feel of the main living space.
