Project
Boat Meadow Landing, Eastham, MA
This three bedroom house sits on the confluence of Boat Meadow Marsh and Cape Cod Bay in Eastham. The upside-down design offers the Owners dramatic water and sunset views.
The building sits in a sparsely concentrated development of existing homes. Respecting that context was an important part of the Owners program. The saltbox gable roof is derivative of antique and newly-built Capes in Eastham. The roof structure is clearly articulated on the interior providing scale, detail and warmth to the main living space. The rear portion of the roof faces south and afforded the opportunity to harvest solar energy with PV panels.
